Post updates etc to relevant Bugs, raise a bug when something is found that should work and doesn't or is in error

PPTP should be deprecated/removed/buried :-)

I have installed 10a4 with single and dual disks and neither install sets up raid 1
ie no degraded raid 1 with single disk

Known issue. Anaconda does not allow anymore degraded array to be used to install. Philosophical debate here, but at the end the core of anaconda would need hours of work and analyze (from us) to add this functionality back as upstream make it clear they do not want it.
Not sure it will happen, unless you have a python guru available with free time.

Fair enough, can the installer be changed then to offer mdadm or zfs options for install. I assume most sme installs are on bare metal so would ideally want to have the raid 1 / z as a default option if the drives were in place at install time?

If two drives are available raid 1 should be the default unless you play with disks in the gui.

Zfs is not offered with red hat. They allow xfs. It would also need to be able to modify the installer to make zfs available. It also requires a few steps to make it available on an already installed fresh centos 7

Out of the several SME servers I have, only one is on baremetal, and that's a very old affa backup box that isn't worth changing.

Personally I'll never run another SME on real hardware.

No idea on stats on this though.

As per suggested by Reetp raid is less a priority when running as a vm as host will handle that.
I tend however to keep bare install for gateway installation.

I can see that
But just to close it up, with either a single or dual identical drives at install time no raid is created.
Just reporting it to help hopefully

If it hasn't got one already, it probably needs a Wiki entry on "Known SME 10 issues" or similar.

Here?

Just re-read this.

We know it doesn’t create a degraded RAID if you only have one drive.

But I think it SHOULD create an array with DUAL drives.

Can you just confirm this please?

I did note the following here https://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:10.0Alpha4

"The spare handling for RAID arrays is not implemented as yet."

However, I don't believe that relates to James's issue.

To confirm, built a vm with 2 x 32GB drives and no raid was created

OK... we need to look at that then....

I PM'd you but if you want an account on my Rocket.Chat instance then please ask and I'll sort it. Terry is usually there and has Prox and does a lot of testing so he can guide you.
