Title: [Solved] Partitioning Error on New Install
Post by: bclayton on April 20, 2019, 09:56:23 PM
I have a new HP ProLiant Gen10 Microserver and am attempting to install SME 9.2.  I am installing from a USB DVD drive that I have used on other systems without problems, so I don't think this is a bug in the software.  This is my first HP server and it contains a new WD 1TB SATA harddrive. (Unfortunately, I have no experience with this hardware.)

During the SME install, I get this message: Error Partitioning: Could not allocate requested partitions: not enough space for LVM requests. The install will not go beyond this point.

I've searched the forums and Google and don't find this problem related to SME.  Can someone suggest a solution, please?

Thanks,
Brooks

BTW, I'm pleased to say that I make financial contributions each year to this great program.

Just a thought, sounds like its attempting to use the the USB drive as part of the install, maybe try noraid, have seen something like this with a USB memory stick, either that or I have a herring of an unusual colour :-)
