User hd space quota
« on: September 24, 2000, 09:31:11 PM »
Hi everyone,

I'd like to use the tool called "quota" because I want to limit the harddrive space that users can use.

I followed most of the instruction at:
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/docs/HOWTO/mini/other-formats/html_single/Quota.html#ss4.1

I can't get it to work. My questions are the following:
- Is the kernel configured to use Quota (Quota support (CONFIG_QUOTA) [y])
How can I see or change this, make menuconfig or xconfig doesn't seem to work.

- The problem is when I set a quota and I quit the editor (after saving) it resets the -   numbers. So no quota is set.
- Also after changing Fstab and a reboot it try's to start the quota and gives a
  FAILED

Has somebody else tried this?

Greetings,

Christian
