Hi

i wanted to setup an account e.g. marco.mueller@company.com but it is to long only 12 charaters. now i setup an account as marco@company.com and setup an alias. I know could recieve Mails to marco.mueller@company.com but if i send mails they will go out as marco@company.com and the should also go out as marco.meuller@company.com.
Could anybody help me with this problem

All you need to do for this part is to set up your favourite email client
to put the fullname as your email address.

It is usually better to do this at the mail client itself than attempting
to rewrite outgoing mail at the server - there are all sorts of nasty
issues with doing it at an intervening mail transfer point.

Thx for fast reply Gordon. But don´t understand what you mean, don´t could speak as good english.
i am using Outlook 2000 or Outlook Express als E-Mail Clients where could i chang it that my mail will send with marco.mueller@company.com and not with marco@company.com

I'm not really familar with that client, but from memory it's under
something like "Accounts". If you select your primary account you will
see a setting email address. Change that from marco@company.com to
marco.mueller@company.com

Just make sure you have the fullname alias installed first (which you
said you did) or your incoming mail will bounce.

Gordon Thx anyway everythings works fine now
But one more little question i worked befor with MS Exchange and could access my E-Mails with Outlook Web Access (OWA) from everywhere of the world.
Is their any chance to access my Mails over the Internet and not with a Mail Client?

That's where I come in, I guess...  I've put together one solution for this.  My pages describing how to do it are at http://users3.50megs.com/danb35.  However, that page doesn't yet have the most up-to-date documentation or links--it links to a slightly older version of the software.

Note, I didn't write any of the software on that page; I just packaged it so it should work with e-smith.

I installed all packets and i can go to localhost/horde but if iy click on the IMP Simbol i only get an error message? "Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_pconnect() in db_mysql.inc on line 73"
what did i do wrong? i installed it as it says in the documentation?

Sounds like you didn't, in fact, install all the packages.  Do "rpm -q mod_php-mysql".  If it reports (as I'm sure it will) that mod_php-mysql is not installed, download and install it.  At the same time, make sure that mod_php-imap and mod_php-ldap are also installed.
