preventing smtp dialing up

Hi

I realise this has been answered before by Charlie but i can't seem to locate it.

I have esmith 4 with the 28 rpm. I would like to stop diald dialing if there is an outgoing email and to rather queue it until the cron job runs. I have tried ignoring smtp tcp requests in diald.filter but that does not work. Am i on the right track?

Anyway id appreciate it if someone could just point me in the right direction

Thanks

I can't remember answering it :-)

Perhaps. What might work is a combination of setting a an SMTPSmartHost - use the IP address of your ISP's SMTP server setting in the "Other Email" panel, and configuring diald to ignore outgoing tcp connection requests. You will then need to make sure that the email queue is flushed when you do connect up.

I'd recommend that you join the developers mailing list and discuss your problems and progress there.
