Have looked through the forum and would like to know if there is a very straight forward way to close down PING on SME 5.6 I do not want to go down the path of placing another box in front of the server or obtaining yet another port management application just to stop the server from responding to PING. For the last month my primary site has had thousands of pings mindlessly wasting bandwidth by replying and guess who pays for the bandwidth. Everybody using SME must be very patient hoping this current pest will go away and if you are using AWSTATS you will have discovered that your primary site statistics do not mean a thing. The virtual site statistics are unaffected thank goodness so client stats actually mean something but I really would like to close down PING forever!
