"devinfo-mitel-update-system"
« on: January 23, 2003, 03:25:44 AM »
Hi All,
I have installed the "devinfo-mitel-update-system" as per the
instructions on the associated web page but I cannot see the server
update page in the server-manager, have I missed something here?
Sorry but I am new to all this Linux stuff, any help would be very
much appreciated s I am desperate to install the latest SME 5.5
update and I have not got any idea how to do it from the command
prompt.
Thanks in anticipation

When you install, it shows on left panel of web admin interface.
Mine allways show at ADMINISTRATION group. Near the bottom of the group.
If you already had the screen open, you need to update it ( F5 ) to see the new item!

You should probably install the update RPMs from the command line anyway, since they require the --replacepkgs option. I've heard of people having problems with the System Update feature, and would rather not risk it (though I haven't personally had any problems).

http://www.chrouch.com/e-smith/rpm-howto.html shows how to install RPMs by copying them to an ibay. You can also use WinSCP2 (http://winscp.vse.cz/) to directly copy the files to a directory on the server. Then just log in as root, switch to that directory, and run the commands listed in the README.
