Topic: e-mail on another PC inside the local network.....

hi there!

I have a e-smith 5.5 server & gateway up and running....
and it works fine....

I have then "delegatet" the mail feauture (just at the moment until i get time to know the mail software inside the e-smith server!) onto another pc in the local network at the ip 192.168.0.2

The problem is not to send mail to an mail account....
The problem is to get it out again... if it is from at pc NOT on the local network....

I the "Hostnames and adresses" have i made the folloving :
Hostname - Visibility - Location - Local IP - Global IP  
mail.domain.dk - Global - remote - 192.168.0.1 - 80.62.xxx.xxx

But i can't get in and check my mail...

And when you get me pointet to the right method to doo this, i woud now say that i also want to have access to my webmail that are locatet at port 3000 on the other local pc... sooo acutualy it is 2 problems )

Easy peasy!

Don't use a delegate PC!
Using e-smith as your mail server is the right solution
In your email client set:
smtp server: mail.yourdomain.tld
pop3 server: mail.yourdomain.tld

Or if you want imap:
imap server: mail.yourdomain.tld

And of course use user+pw which you configured in the server-manager

webmail: http://yourdomain.tld/webmail

(tld = Top Level Domain = .com .net or ...)

hi!

At the moment i am not going to use the e-smith to e-mail....

Becourse i cant finde the right tool's to make enteys per domain avalibil to the owner of the domain...
info@domain1.xxx
info@domain2.xxx
and soe one...

At the moment i just can get the e-smith mail system to have one info@ post-box
and regardles if you send to info@domain1.xxx or info@domain2.xxx it will be delivered to the same postbox
and becourse i want to be abel to offer the owner of the domain to bee 100% in controle over witch e-mail adresses there are on his/hers domain, and leth them change this by them self, without having to contact me everey time they want somthing changed...

there fore i have this tool's to my windows pc, then this can act as the e-mail server (just at the moment to i finde som tools to the e-smith )

But since my last post and up til now, i have found a portforwarder to e-smith.... witch seams to work fin....

If you know of souch tool to the e.smith, please let me know
