Manual Configuration of Dehydrated
« on: November 04, 2021, 10:15:09 AM »
I have successfully followed the instructions to configure Letsencrypt manually (https://wiki.koozali.org/Letsencrypt#Manual_Installation_of_Dehydrated)

I experience one problem though, every time i run "signal-event console-save" the domains.txt files is modified to only 2 hostnames:

mydomain.com, www.mydomain.com

the other hostnames are disappearing.

Questions is: how to avoid this and is it gonna affect renewal?

the other hostnames are disappearing.

Have you enabled them?

It will only create and renew names that are in domains.txt

So you had better tell us exactly what you did to set this up, from the start. You kept notes as you went so you could repeat it?

...
1. Read the Manual
2. Read the Wiki
3. Don't ask for support on Unsupported versions of software
4. I have a job, wife, and kids and do this in my spare time. If you want something fixed, please help.

The problem was indeed i didn't enabled the hostnames missing. I assumed (wrongly) that the manual configuration would have overruled that.

Thank you for your fast reply :)

so by « manual configuration » we will have to assume you did not meant actually install dehydrated from source and manually configure everything, but rather,
install smeserver-dehydrated and then edited a templated file and were asking why your changes were overwritten ?

You assumed correctly.

thanks for clarifying.

if you are new to SME, take the time to read the wiki documentation section about administration and templates.  It will save you time.
