Rocket.Chat
« on: August 11, 2019, 01:41:07 PM »
Dear all,

I have been running a Rocket.Chat chat instance (like Slack etc) for some while for Koozali. It's my testing instance for my main work version so it's great to get some real world thrashing in, and something useful for here.

If anyone want to come and chat then please let me know and I can add you as a user (it is not open for general registration yet).

It's not there to take over from forums. Just a place to hang out and waffle and chat SME/Computers/Wife/Kids/Pool Temp etc

If there is anything of substance discussed we always document/bug/report back here.

It is much easier to chat in 'real time' than here when thrashing stuff about - especially when you are testing ideas on the fly as well. e.g. it has been invaluable when Terry has been doing some testing for some of my hacky code.

We have been having some discussions there on the server manager, and currently on SSL/Security settings for SME.

If you want to join in then don't be shy. Message me and I'll give you a login.

FWIW technically it is a docker instance of the open source https://Rocket.Chat with a Nginx reverse proxy all running on a small SME VM on Proxmox on my cloudy server at online.net in Paris.

Since deciding to use Rocket at work, I have become progressively more involved with the development of Rocket - helping with bug triage, community support, Google Season of Doc mentor, dev build tester on their React Native app "Chief Shouter" on privacy/GDPR etc etc :-)

Quite an interesting project https://github.com/RocketChat/Rocket.Chat

Anyways, please come and chat. The few of us there do not bite..... !

B,. Rgds
John

On peut aussi parler en français comme le bon vieil IRC qui se fait déserter.
