After searching the forums, I have not seen this question asked, so:
I have set the email delivery to reject unknown email addresses.
During testing I noticed that when sending an email to an invalid email account, at the correct domain, I receive back a "smtp; 550 relaying denied" message, when I would have expected something more like of these common 'generic' 550 messages:
550 Invalid recipient
550 No such user here
My rationale is that as the domain is correct, and therefore it is not a relaying issue, but it is just the user account is invalid.
Now I am the first to say that while I am a long time SME Server user (since version 4), I am not a mail expert; what do other people think and should this message be changed (and how)
**EDITED**
Since posting I have found that this is an open bug
