/etc/cron.daily/letsencrypt: line 3: syntax error near unexpected token `|'

OK, I have pushed a change.

Please see the bug.

A new version 0.5-8 (ignore -6 and -7 as I made some mistakes) should be in smetest shortly. Please help by verifying the update fixes the issue and we can release this ASAP. Thanks.

Old string was:

/usr/bin/dehydrated -c 2>&1 >  | logger -t dehydrated

New string is:

/usr/bin/dehydrated -c 2>&1 | logger -t dehydrated

Progress should be observed in the logs.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

It's been a long Christmas and we are only a few and mistakes can be made. We have spent a lot of our Xmas break trying to fix stuff and get it released whilst you tuck in to your Xmas lunches and drinks.

If you want to see less problems and more fixes then PLEASE help. This stuff doesn't happen by magic but by unpaid hard work from a dedicated few.

You don't have to be a guru. There a re lots of small but important jobs to be done (verifying stuff like this is vital). We can teach you. All we need is a bit of your time and some enthusiasm.

Please drop us a line if you want to contribute back to Koozali SME.

Thanks

John

Thanks to everyone involved in identifying and fixing the small issue that would have become a problem in about a month?

I appreciate your work.

It will be an issue every time the script fires... daily. It will only become a real issue when you actually need the certs renewed.

Ok.  I've figured out how to install the test and find the logs.
It appears to be working now.

It's about how much we want to learn....

I'm no guru!!!! Just read & played. Virtual machines are lifesavers.

If you want to help and learn more we can help you. Just ask.
