Topic: Server Crashed - Want to restore LVM

Greetings All,

I have a SMR Server 9.2 that booted off a memory stick and  2 x 3Tb hard drives with RAID1.

The boot device has died.
What will be the best way to rebuild server and reconnect the RAID.

I have searched but have not found something similar.

First question is where are all the configuration settings? On the memory stick or on the RAID device?

How had you actually set the server up - drive layout etc?

I would guess that if you set up the 2 drives with softraid on SME they should easily be recoverable with any linux distro.

So, tell us exactly how you had this set up and we'll see what we can do to help.

I assume you have a good backup in case of disasters.....
