i-Bay names same as directory name
« on: September 06, 2002, 09:42:40 AM »
Question: If I name an i-bay the same name as a directory I create within my primary i-bay, when trying to access my html files within the directory in my primary i-bay, I now end up getting the default page in the new i-bay I set up with the same name.

For example, I have a folder I created called "cindy" within my primary i-bay, which is located at http://www.mydomain.com/cindy. However, when I created an i-bay named "cindy", when you go to the same URL now, it goes to the index.html page within the cindy i-bay now.

Is there a workaround? That stinks you can't have i-bays and directories within your primary i-bay with the same name...

That's correct bahaviour.
How could the same URL resolve to different locations ?
Just change your ibay name !

I believe that an i-bay is an aliased subdirectory of your primary domain, which is why it is accessible as mydomain.com/ibayname after creating the new ibay.

if you're going to create subdirectories for your users, why not try it this way:  mydomain.com/users/cindy  (don't create an ibay named users)
