Error: no removable disk available
« on: November 09, 2017, 09:20:44 PM »
Have SME Server 9.1 production which has 3TB usb hard drive attached for backup. Worked perfectly until the 2 TB partition it was using became full.

In server-manager under backup and restore it was setup originally for backup to workstation under removable disk. Now it does not recognize the disk at all. What I
get is the error in the subject of this thread.

Have tried all the tricks I know of to get the drive to be recognized by the server manager as a backup drive again and no luck. Drive mounts as per USB Disks how-to

Disk is configured with 2 partitions so it does not exceed the 2TB limit. Disk is writable and can be read from. Ensured disk was mounted and not mounted neither works.

Have tried fdisk with MBR and GNU parted with GPT.  All items have been added to the /media and /etc/fstab. Been at this for many weeks - finally time to reach out for a fresh view point. TIA for the fresh eyes.
