PHP 5.6 with SME 9.1
«

I need to test a webshop for php 5.6.
I stumbled over this contrib:
https://wiki.contribs.org/PHP_Software_Collections
. It's stated that (unfortunately) this works only for 64bit installations.
My VM is only 32bit. Is there a way to install/upgrade to php 5.6 with SME 9.1?
It's just a VM to test - no production server.
Thanks for any reply in advance.

Sorry, SCL is made available by upstream for 64-bit systems only.

I followed this:
https://wiki.contribs.org/Upgrade_php/mysql
With the modification from 55 to 56. Seems to work...

if it is a simple VM it would be fast to backup and restore to another VM but x64.
happy you find a workaround. It might only be some mess for next updates, but usually from waht I did with sme8 it should be ok.

No need in this case - it's only for testing purpose. My hoster changed the webspace from php 5.3 to php 5.6. I just wanted to test the shops/homepages before I switch to the new php-version. So it's a "shoot and forget" ...
