Thanks very much janet. I am about to install 9.2 on this server after re-partitioning. prior to do it, it is important to backup all the files that belong to our branch. Then I would think about that server. I will try and let you know.

As above.

DON'T bother with any more updates to v8.

Backup v8, Install v9.2, and Restore.

Advice ends.....
...
1. Read the Manual
2. Read the Wiki
3. Don't ask for support on Unsupported versions of software
4. I have a job, wife, and kids and do this in my spare time. If you want something fixed, please help.

As said numerous time, the only thing you should do from now is backup SME8 and restore on a fresh SME9.

that said,
mirrorlist for SME8 are still available, the only obstacle here to be able to use yum from now is from CentOS and other tiers repositories so from there you have 2 solutions if you are blocked by the need to update something to help you to migrate to SME9:

1- read there, and use this to change the URL for  CentOS repos : https://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:9.2#Known_issues_upgrade_from_SME8
2- use yum manual command line and append --disablerepo=* --enablerepo=smecontribs,smeos,smeupdates this way you get ride of external CentOS repo.

Simply use the first one as it could be the more reliable and do not bother with open vpn until you move to SME9.

It is not so difficult to do BUT you need to understand what you are doing, if you do not understand & have to ask us how to do it, then you should NOT be doing it.
Much better you devote your time to upgrading to sme9.2 & then installing openvpn bridge following available & working instructions.

If you want to persist you can download rpms & dependencies from here for 32 bit & do a yum local install
