Gmail:Provider.name "did not encrypt this message"
« on: December 24, 2017, 05:54:38 PM »
Hello, all.
I recently finally switched my office to the SME 9.2 server from the very old Fedora 6 one... :-)
Everything looks fine and working - great work!!!!
The small issue is that all my mails arriving to gmail (and probably other addresses) are now going to spam folder with the remark: my.provider.com did not encrypt this message.
I found the https://wiki.contribs.org/Qpsmtpd:tls and checked - it seems to be installed and I see the
/etc/e-smith/templates/var/service/qpsmtpd/config/plugins/04tls
file with
tls ssl/cert.pem ssl/cert.pem ssl/cert.pem ssl/dhparam.pem

What is missing, please?

P.S. I looked at the gmail message and saw (xxx/yyy instead of my account name):
ARC-Authentication-Results: i=1; mx.google.com;

Doesn't the last line say that the mail was encrypted?
Thanks a lot ahead...

qpsmtpd is used to process *inbound* email.

Outbound email is sent using qmail.  To send encrypted email from your sme server you need to find a way to encrypt the outbound message.

The only way to do this at the moment is to configure your sme server to use a smarthost that supports encrypted email delivery.

here's forum topic discussing this issue:
