Active Sync in Horde for SMEServer 9.1
« on: July 12, 2016, 10:53:49 PM »
Hi,

I’m trying to setup syncing horde adressbook/calendar with my clients (iPhone/MAC).
It seems that SyncML/ActiveSync support is not available within horde in SMEServer 9.1.

I cannot find any information about syncing with horde. With sogo there is a lot of information.
But I need syncing over port 443 not the non standard ports in zarafa  or radicale.

Thanks in advance for any help

Regards,
Joachim

Can't say for horde as I don't use it. But if you can afford some time to get SOGo running, go for it. It has (optional) EAS support, but the native carddav/caldav support is very reliable, and works very well with iPhones, iPad, MAC OS X, Thunderbird, Evolution (native support for them), and also on Android (with Caldav-sync and carddav-sync app), and even on Outlook (With OutlookDAV)
C'est la fin du monde !!!

Yes. Eas, caldav and carddav all work over https (but only eas can give email access over https). I don't use eas myself so can't comment how reliable it is.

Interesting, a Google search for horde activesync, presents a lot of links.  You can't sync with horde 3, but horde 5 supports EAS just fine.  I use it everyday.

Yes, there are a lot of links about ActiveSync, but no working solution. But I just installed SoGO. Looks nice, but I miss a feature for changing sender identity.
There is a post from 2010: "SOGo Mail Identity".

Any news about this?

Joachim

You're kidding me right.  There are many links with working solutions.  You can also look through the horde mailing list and find the same.  You are free to use whatever you want that satisfies your needs.  Horde 5 upgrades cleanly, retains your settings, and adds many new features.

Hi all,

just to replace the conversation :

John Bennett III aka mrjhb3 is working for a while to provide to the community his work with Horde 5, see :
https://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=50969.0
and

John,
I see two thing missing to make your wonderful work more accessible and easy to find :

- create a wiki page with how to proceed as stated in the forum, but it will be easier to find for everybody. Let's say : https://wiki.contribs.org/Horde5

- as soon as we are done with the version on SME10, we could see how we could integrate it in smecontribs for SME9  or maybe see how we could update existing horde 3 for everybody!

Hi Jean-Philippe, hi John,

John, yesterday I installed the Horde 5.2 rpms. No problems. The horde sync run´s fine. Thank you very much for these great rpms.
Jean-Phillipe, yes a Wiki for the horde upgrade would make it a lot easier to find the upgrade infos.

Best regards,
Joachim
