Using AFFA to move from 8.1 to 9.0
« on: December 03, 2014, 12:17:59 AM »
Has anyone tried this yet?

http://wiki.contribs.org/Moving_SME_to_new_Hardware

I've done this with complete success many times going from 7.6 to 8.0 and 8.1. It's just ... so ... easy.

I'll be giving this a try shortly and will report.

I did exactly that last week and seems to have worked fine. The only deviation from the instructions, which I expected, was a bunch of rpms still remained in the rpms-missing.txt file which I skimmed through and ignored. It's a test server with old unnecessary contribs that I was too lazy to remove from the 8.1 server. Other than that, so far so good.
