Up&Running on a Gen8 Microserver - Same controller B120i (Intel actually) - Used Sme Raid.
If any problem with this upper class server you can install ESXi 5.5 (hp edition cd - native support for B120i Raid) as an intermediate layer and then SME 8/9 as guest.

I've installed SME8 on this server to make an e-mail server (with egroupware).
I had no problem with hardware.
