SME9-egroupware
« on: May 19, 2014, 05:19:36 PM »
Hello
I'm unsure if this is the rightplace to report, sorry if not, i'm a bit unfamiliar with the forum.
however, i've made some testings on smeserver-egroupware ( from jean-philippe PIALASSE, many thanks to you ) with a sme 9 RC1 ( VM ).
Install as per wiki for SME 8 ( don't forget to add SME8 repository as in wiki for SME9 ).
I've tested both x86 and x64. Both are OK, except for aspell which is used in felamimail, as spellchecker ( when using html format... you need to create mail, type a text and ask for spellcheck )
I've tested the contrib with a SME 8.1 ( VM too ) and confirm that the spellcheck is ok ( no aspell trouble ) on SME8.1.

Many thanks to the community

many thank for reporting to the sme9contribs QA http://wiki.contribs.org/SME9.0_Contribs_QA

please take some minuted to read that page and to answer following the template to bugzilla. It could be useful if we have the same template to fill bugs report and if we take some minutes to write and update that page following the works of developers.

in any case : thanks you

thank you all for your hard work.
Sorry for my weak understandig, but what is confusing me is:
if sme V9 is meant to be perfectly compatible with the V8.1, then i understand this is a bug ( because every contribs of sme8 should be compatible with sme9 => it's not the smeserver-egroupware "fault" ). However, smeserver-egroupware has been designed to work with sme8 ( and i confirm it's working ok for me ), and i report, on the hypothesis to make a smeserver-egroupware compatible with sme9, that apparently, the only part to adapt to sme9, is the aspell part.
The question is: is this a bug from sme9 or is this a request to adapt smeserver-egroupware to sme9.

Kind regards

All SME8 contribs MUST be tested and confirmed to work with SME9.  SME9 is not "perfectly compatible with the V8.1" one is CentOS 5 based the other CentOS 6. Please do what stephdl has suggested. Thanks

added here for reference the bug report : http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8390

I have slightly modified the title of your bug since it is easier for us to find that your bug refers to sme9contribs. at the page http://wiki.contribs.org/SME9.0_Contribs_QA#not_working you have a template. Could you fill the relevant chapter http://wiki.contribs.org/SME9.0_Contribs_QA#smeserver-egroupware and keep it up to date with updates of your bug report.

Thanks in advance :)

Hello,

i want to install eGroupware at this Contrib http://wiki.contribs.org/Egroupware. But i have the following error:

--> Running transaction check
---> Package smeserver-egroupware.noarch 0:1.8.6-1.el6.sme will be installed
--> Processing Dependency: eGroupware-gallery >= 1.8 for package: smeserver-egroupware-1.8.6-1.el6.sme.noarch
--> Processing Dependency: eGroupware >= 1.8 for package: smeserver-egroupware-1.8.6-1.el6.sme.noarch
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Package: smeserver-egroupware-1.8.6-1.el6.sme.noarch (smedev)
           Requires: eGroupware-gallery >= 1.8
Error: Package: smeserver-egroupware-1.8.6-1.el6.sme.noarch (smedev)
           Requires: eGroupware >= 1.8
 You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
 You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

I found hier http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/eGroupWare/CentOS_6/src/ the actual rpm, but the steps on this site http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Adding_Software was not the right way for me. Can anyone help me to install this version?

Firstly NEVER install src rpms.

Secondly if published documentation does not work as expected please lodge a bug report at bugzilla
Please search before asking, an answer may already exist.

Error: Package: smeserver-egroupware-1.8.6-1.el6.sme.noarch (smedev)

The problem here is that the smedev repository contains an smeserver-egroupware rpm, but no matching eGroupware-gallery or eGroupware rpm.

Wait for what ?

Go ahead yourself & post a bug report detailing what Charlie has advised.
Hopefully the developer will see it & fix the issue.
