Upgrade to Horde 5.1 or 5.2
« on: September 25, 2014, 03:43:50 PM »
Is it possible to upgrade to the new horde versions (5.1.1   or 5.2) while sticking with SME-Server 8.1 ?

If anyone has a how to link that would be cool.

Presumably an upgrade to SME 9 would do the trick as well although I'm slightly nervous of doing that unless I can find a spare box to test on.

Thanks

David

An upgrade to 9.0 does not, by default, upgrade Horde significantly--it's still on 3.x.  John Bennet has put together RPMs to do the upgrade, though, which seem to work pretty well on 9.0.

Cheers. V5 looks a lot nicer to work with than the current v3 so it would be nice to get it working.

I didn't do any work on SME8 for horde 5.x, only sme9.

David,

maybe you are interested in testing on Virtual Machines. There are some great howto's on the wiki that will set you up with as many test SME8 or SME9 VM boxes as you like. Either on your workstation or on a server. Virtualbox would be a nice start.

Good luck.
