Hi y'all
I have a UPS that isn't supported by the current version of nut in CentosOS 5.x, admittedly it's getting on a bit:
[root@gateway ~]# rpm -qi nut
Name : nut Relocations: (not relocatable)
Version : 2.2.2 Vendor: Fedora Project
Release : 4.el5 Build Date: Wed 14 Nov 2012 09:09:50 PM WST
Install Date: Sat 09 Nov 2013 04:28:29 PM WST Build Host: buildvm-03.phx2.fedoraproject.org
Group : Applications/System Source RPM: nut-2.2.2-4.el5.src.rpm
Size : 3080981 License: GPLv2+
Signature : DSA/SHA1, Thu 15 Nov 2012 12:43:55 AM WST, Key ID 119cc036217521f6
Packager : Fedora Project
URL :

This UPS needs the richcomm_usb driver that isn't in the 2.2.2 rpm.
Has anyone tried a newer version with success (up to 2.7.2 now)? Could I just extract this driver from the newer rpm & copy it to /sbin where the other drivers are & config to suit?
From my reading around the issue it looks like the way & location where nut is installed has changed a bit in the newer versions so may not be a simple upgrade.
If no info forthcoming in a few days of someones success I'll post a NFR bug for the devs to take a look.
