SAIL to Asterisk Trunk
« on: April 08, 2014, 07:08:53 PM »
Hi All,

Has anyone connected a SAIL PBX to another Asterisk box? Eg. PIAF?
I know how to connect SAIL to SAIL PBXs but I'm having trouble with SAIL to PIAF. I've followed a couple of howtos on the web but I can't get them to call each other, I have created outbound routes on each PBX so they can dial each others extensions. SAIL is 4xx range and PIAF is 5xx range. Any help or pointers is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Del

Sail and PIAF are both asterisk. I would suggest to set up an inter asterisk IAX trunk between the two boxes. It would not effect the SIP handsets.

That's what I've been trying :-) but I can't get them to register, it works PIAF to PIAF and SAIL to SAIL but not SAIL to PIAF  :?

Well, it's a bit difficult to troubleshoot without more details.

What does the Asterisk registry say? Is the trunk registered at all on both boxes?
