New installation of 9.2: All ports are closed in server-gateway mode

I am upgrading from 8.1 to 9.2 with a fresh installation. I have replicated all of the settings from the old server image.

Using ShieldsUp! at www.grc.com, I find that all of my server's ports are in stealth mode.

An External user is unable to connect to the web server (HTTP), webmail (HTTPS) or mail server (POP3S).
Internal users can access the web server and webmail. We have not tested POP3 because the server has not received any messages.

No other equipment in the network has changed. The server is connected directly to the modem.

I have carefully walked through the Email configuration wiki (https://wiki.contribs.org/Email) and the Server Administration Manual (https://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:Administration_Manual:Chapter13#E-mail).

The Dynamic DNS records have the correct IP address. When we configure the modem to allow ICMP, external users are able to ping the server successfully. The fresh installation uses the same domain name as the previous installation.

According to my understanding, this should be a drop in replacement. Can anyone provide suggestions on how to configure the used ports?

Sounds like your modem is blocking access. Either blocking or not connected.

How is the modem configured?

How is SME configured to use the modem?

Note the ping response is probably the modem not SME.

Also your old post

Thank you for your responses.

I dove deeper into the modem settings and found the IP address for the server and the IP address for the port forwarding rules in the modem did not match. Once I fixed this, the appropriate ports opened as expected.

Thank you for your ideas and support.
