Dansguardian blocks http connections on port 80, so will not block https connections on port 443. Also by implication you cannot have "something in the middle" of a secure (https) connection as it would not be secure then.

What you can do is block access in Dansguardian to web URLs where users need to login to gain access to a secure site, if they cannot login then they cannot access the prohibited site. This technique is only of limited success in blocking access to some https sites. Look in the dansguardian/http/squid logs to see the login site URLs being used/accessed.

To really block https access on a site by site basis, you need to add each domain to be blocked to your SME server using the server manager Domains panel & configure each domain to point at your main web page or a default message html page on your server. When users try to access a listed https site, they will be directed to your web site & effectively blocked.
