I'm currently working on the contrib smeserver-ddclient i would know which dynamic service ( free or paid ) you want to be usable by default in the contrib

i added

dtdns (a free service)
dynhost (a free service for people who use service from  ovh.com)

i would add NOIP too

and you ?

Please if possible, add settings needed to work with ddclient

I'm testing this on my home server with dtdns. Using the latest out of smetest. Nice work and thanks for updating it. My dydns went away, must have missed logging into the website.

nothing at all...it is a true pleasure if my work can help you, indeed the contrib which was completely broken is working now, with more free or paid providers than before.
If someone needs a provider doesn't available, he should raise a bug and please provides settings which match with ddclient (make google search)

Some providers included in the contrib don't ask to log every month to renew your account. I'm thinking to changeip(7 hosts max) dtdns(5 hosts max), and probably many more.

Will this contrib do the periodic login to providers like dyndns.org to keep your account alive? I am currently running a separate script that automates the periodic login, but would like an all-in-one solution.

not at all...this contrib look at the external ip every 300s through an external service and renew the ip if it is different.
i know that some services as dyndns ask to renew the service every month, but a provider such dtdns doesn't ask it.
if you need it you can raise a nfr against smeserver-ddclient with all informations needed such as your script, and we will see if it is valuable and  possible.
