Hi,
I tried to apply the above ...
I still get something wrong:

yum update
Loading "smeserver" plugin
Loading "protect-packages" plugin
Loading "fastestmirror" plugin
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Existing lock /var/run/yum.pid: another copy is running. Aborting.
[root@sme2 lists]# yum update

I have split your post into a separate item - you had written on a sticky and it is best to keep notifications clean from comments. Hope you do not mind.

Question:  when did you last update your server?
Your issue may be best dealt with in the bugtracker, please consider opening a bug.

Gaetan,

We are better equipped to deal with this issue on the Bugtracker. 
Would you kindly open a bug at Bugzilla providing as much information as you can (just copy what you have posted here to start with).  When doing so, please attach logs formatted as text files,  Do not copy and paste in the actual bug, it makes it easier to read etc.
