SME 8 Update packages
« on: February 14, 2013, 03:28:39 AM »
A question for the powers, when the current release of SME 8 is installed it then needs a further 222mb of downloads to update it, is it likely that a release will be put out soon that has those updates incorporated

Just something annoying while doing multiple installs of 8 when testing and wrecking..

From the cheap seats I know..

if you download the last CentOS5.x iso you'll find you have to download the same amount of updates..

you can always create a local mirror to speed up the update process.. google will tell you how

No worries, already sussed that.

I don't use CenTos so thats not an issue..

I asked the question on behalf of the great unwashed like me, who may come along here and download the iso on the off chance it could be useful, screw it up a few times, as you do, reinstall to keep climbing the learning curve. Using a cast off bit of hardware that I may be able to throw a couple of drives into and be able to tell everyone I have a file come media server :-)

Maybe after two or three of those tries and having to down 200mb in updates each time might put me off a little.

So it was just a random question, as the great unwashed are wont to ask.

Back to 9.01a, just looking at the login prompt..ahahahah..a thing of beauty

Aussie humour, hope you get it..LOL..:-)
