Web between lan 1 and lan 2
« on: November 27, 2012, 07:14:29 PM »
Good evening,

I've a 2 stage home network :

WAN
>> Orange box (192.168.1.1)
Lan 1 (192.168.1.x) Eth + Wifi (TV demod, voip box, TV, bluray)
>> SME box (192.168.1.12 & 192.168.0.250 server & gateway)
Lan 2 (192.168.0.x) Eth only (home PCs)

I've some problem to acces to Lan 1 devices web page from Lan 2.
As an example, the LB 2ZTE web page looks like below from Lan 1 and Lan 2.
From lan 2 no text at all !! I also tried to change browser (Chrom IE9) it's the same.
From lan 1 with a wifi PC, this web page is correctly rendered.

Could you explain me what's happening ?

In bug report Ray Mitchell suggest me :
Quote
A quick suggestion is to add LAN 1 to LAN 2 in the Local networks panel of sme server.
You might also look at DNS resolution & port requirements.

I try to add lan1 to lan2 in the local networks like this :
NetworkMaskRouter
192.168.1.0255.255.255.0192.168.0.250
But no more access to web from Lan 2 (Proxy resolution error ?!?!)
Where is my mistake ?

Could you explain me how to look DNS resolution & port requirements ?

Thanks.              .YO.

from Lan 2 to lan1 livebox : no text ! :-(

from Lan 1 to lan1 livebox : all ok. :-P
.YO.

You do need to have a router between the networks.

Please draw an interconnection diagram of all your devices and network arrangement so it is clear for us to understand how it is all connected.
Please search before asking, an answer may already exist.

From what I gather, he's having an issue through the server gateway machine which should nat to the LAN1 devices.

I don't know how he's setup with any proxy settings, but I'd turn those off first to test.

mary, here is the network diagram :

johnp, you're right.
It's an issue through the SME box for accessing from lan2 to lan1.

In sme server console, under External Interface configuration, have you selected the "Use static IP option" or something else ?

You do need to have a router between the networks.

SME server is a router, and is between the two networks.

This looks to me to be a page content problem, not a network connectivity problem. Do "View source" and look at the HTML code, and speak to "Livebox" support.

I've selected Use DHCP (ethernet address identification)

This looks to me to be a page content problem, not a network connectivity problem.

Charlie, why, in this case, from Lan 1 livebox webpage are correctly rendered.
The only difference is that they are going through the server, no ?
