Which version of Affa are you running smeserver-affa-2.0.0-rc4 or affa-3.2.2-1x ?
The newer 3.x still supports sme.
The maintainer has chosen to publish elsewhere, it seems for the reasons of making this a more universally used package, and unless someone else is going to create a sme specific version (eg smeserver-affa) then the only choice at present (if you wish to use the latest 3.x version) is to use the Sourceforge hosted "contrib" packages.
I personally have no problems about using the Sourceforge package.

I'm in the process of testing various packages for sme8.0 final, and this (v3.x) will be one of the next I check.
Please search before asking, an answer may already exist.
