What Does AFFA really do?
« on: May 28, 2012, 09:17:59 AM »
I do not have access to my dar to save a backup that is capable of being loaded during a new installation, so what does AFFA actually backup that I can restore?
Does it restore all username and passwords? Ibays? Shared Folders?
Is there something I should include in the backup to allow it to restore as much as possible.
My scenario is that I have an SME 8 server that is pretty much broken. I can still access it just fine, but there are too many experimental moving parts, so I want to start with a fresh slate. I have a default AFFA backup, but my server is in full production. I need to restore all usernames, passwords, ibays, and permissions through my backups. If AFFA does not do it, is there a way to run DAR from command line in order to create a backup that I can use when doing my fresh install?

I couldn't delete it once I posted. I know Charlie always says one question per post. So I felt bad for asking so many questions on the other post, I tried to split it up here.
