I've been thinking. (Scarey stuff)

How is your SME server setup?  Server Only or Gateway?

If gateway, there must be an option on the extension setup side that allows remote access.  I use SARKPBX/SAIL and it has an option for local or remote.

also, may be check that your ADSL modem is forwarding the correct ports 4569 and I think manybe 10000-20000.  there would be documentations somewhere. I guess google might be a good option here

I am new to SAIL SME Server v8b6 and have been using SME for many years.
I have already done some research and only ask questions if I still can't work it out.

teviot thanks for your reply

i have the sme 7.4 setup as " server only "
i also have ipcop being my gateway/proxy/web filtering server

in ipcop i have port forward udp 4569 to the sme freepbx server and not 10000 - 20000

will port forward 10000 - 20000

will do that and get back to you
