and uninstall

I lost my ethernet connection
entering on console I can see network is down
and in admin "console" command work but is not possible to make the "server- setup"

start manualy tha network
this seems to work
but lots of services are down
I've started httpd httpd-e-smith and httpd-admin
and webpages start to work
started imaps and users can see mails
I don't figure out how to start the service for sending mails

after my manual command I have IP and route
but for name resolution I must start also this manual
after that also the HTTP- services
and so on with
mail, e-smith, clamav, spamd,  ....

I've looked around in manual, wiki, and forum and I don't found any list of what are the standard services and order of their start

if someone has that it will be great to compare mine

if no list available please guide me
I have also a test one (one SME7.4 and one SME8)  which is functional and I can compare step by step

And how did you do all this? I am wondering which commands you used and suspect you executed some commands you should not execute on SME Server, normally SME Server does not shutdown services like it seems to have done in your case.

I agree that most probably I've done something wrong

In this moment if I reboot the server with signal-event post-upgrade / signal-event reboot
I have a lot of services "stopped"
here included network httpd httpd-e-smith httpd-admin....

to start them I must go to server console (actually is on pop and I need to connect one IP KVM console direct on server and access it by that method)

before and after I manually start everything  I look at the status of that services and in both cases there are the same in chkconfig

and I don't want to manually change this
I don't find any method to do it by signal-event or any template (sme server way)

I think any guideline to this will help me

also I notified that lots of contribs or how to's on wiki don't have "uninstall" method or the method provided don't erase everithing (I found for example left databases after uninstallation )

but this probably is better to start another topic in contrib section for this

actually my chkconfig --list  look like this

chkconfig has no relevance for SME server - as you can see, it says nothing about runlevel 7, which is what SME server users.

Please show the output of:

That would explain your problems.

I suggest that you mount your SME server CD, locate the e-smith-base rpm, then do:

rpm -Uhv --force /path/to/e-smith-base-*rpm

You should also think back to your various modifications and work out when you edited that file and broke it, and what other damage you may have done to your system at the same time. Either that, or you have file system corruption, which is possible, but I think less likely.

now it seems that everything is working back normal

the strange thing bout this story is that I don't remember to play with that file
I've played around openfire and ejabbered
I tried to look in history and nothing strike me to be wrong
