*21* and *31* goes to voicemail
« on: November 11, 2009, 02:39:17 PM »
When I dial *31* to put my PBX in the closed state it asks for my password followed by the # key which I enter then it welcomes me to camedian mail and asks me which mailbox I want  :-? When I dial *21* to forward my calls it goes straight to camedian mail  :-o I dialed both while watching at the Asterisk console and this is the output:

Has anyone else had this problem? I am using Asterisk 1.4.25.1 and SAIL 2.3.2-15 Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

You are missing some soundfiles.  It would seem that the ATrpms do not include the Asterisk additional sound files.  This must always have been the case for anyone not using our UK english sound files.

You can install the additional files by downloading the set from Digium

http://downloads.asterisk.org/pub/telephony/sounds/asterisk-extra-sounds-en-gsm-current.tar.gz

I've updated the wiki installation notes to reflect this.

Simply untar the file and move or copy the contents into the asterisk sounds directory (/var/lib/asterisk/sounds)

I'm not entirely sure that this will completely fix your issue but it wil make debugging easier.  Please install the sound files and re-run the tests.

Kind Regards

Hi Selintra,

I've done as you asked and now when I dial *21* It tells me that call forwarding is deactivated and then it goes to voicemail (welcome etc.)  Same thing with *31* and *30* they both say and do what is expected but then go to the voicemail welcome  :-(
Below is the output.

No problem, I have time on my hands today so I thought that I'd have a go at installing again. I didn't expect it to be the same. I was hoping it would be OK and I could just copy /home/e-smith/db/selintra from my production server to see if it was causing the problem. But now I'm stumped!
