Multiple Sail-to-Sail
« on: August 25, 2009, 02:06:42 PM »
Hi,

I like to connect 3 servers with sail-to-sail, i use sail-2.3.2-12 on each box.
I opened port 4569 udp on the firewalls in front of the boxes.

Box A is in server and gateway mode, B also in server and gateway mode and C in server only mode.

Box A to B is ok and B to C is also ok but C to A are not connected.
Box B (my server) has two additional Sail-to-Sail connections.
Must i open additional ports on the firewalls ?

regards

No extra ports to open usually - it all uses 4569(UDP).

host names need to be different on each machine and it is best to keep the hostnames fairly short because I don't think that Asterisk likes iax usernames of more than 14 characters (rememeber that the two host names are concatenated to form the iax username).  We have seen drop outs and failure to connect with 4 or more hosts in the setup.  It would seem to be better to use SIP when there are a lot of hosts.  We've never really figured out why or had a good explanation.

Hi,

I think i found the problem, i changed the system-name of server C because it was very similar to server A  (the first five letters were equal)

Its working after the change.

Thanks
