:Funambol: error http [Solved]
« on: August 19, 2009, 06:02:00 PM »
Hi all,

I tried to configure horde to use funambol on my iphone.
I followed this how-to http://wiki.contribs.org/Horde_and_Funambol_Synchronization#Install_Horde_Contribs
, but I never get a connection.

I Removed 'realm' from template fragment, as mentioned.
I cleaned my contact with this file: http://bugs.contribs.org/attachment.cgi?id=2374 , as mentioned.

Now it should work. But no.
I tried with iphone funambol version and the outlook funambol version, and I get always the same error:
Http error, or server failure or network error.
For me is not a network settings error, but something related with Horde config. Because on my pc (on the same range ip) the outlook version doesn't work.

Last thing, may help, I got a blank page if I access on
https://sme/horde/rpc.php with any browser.

Any help is welcome.

What does the error log from your desktop say?

horde logins are recorded in /var/log/messages.
horde activity should show up in /var/log/httpd/access_log

http errors should show up in /var/log/httpd/error_log.

Hopefully there's some info in one of these locations that can point you in the right direction.

Hi,
I'm back :)

I looked into these log files, but I found nothing about error...

I created a new user for testing, but I do not found a "refused connection" for the new user.

What can I do next ?

And do you have any idea about the blank page (https://sme/horde/rpc.php) ?

The blank page is normal AFAIK - rpc.php is designed for application access, not viewing via a browser.

Can you post the iPhone and desktop logs so we can look for ourselves?

I get connection between PC and SME.
I put my laptop on the same iphone range ip, and it works fine.
For me, is not a network error.

The only difference between PC and Iphone, is about certificate. I never get a popup to accepte a secure connection on it.

For me this case is close here. I will ask for help on iphone forum.

Thks :)

[EDIT] I found this just now :)  [EDIT]

I tried to sign up for my email account, but it does not work. What's going on?

First, make sure that your credentials (Email Address and Password) are correct. For some of the public mail servers, you should enable POP (e.g. for Yahoo! accounts) or IMAP (e.g. for Gmail accounts). Note that your email provider (e.g. Yahoo!, Hotmail) may require a premium option to allow third party access to your email account; if you're not sure about your account type, please contact your provider for more information.

We maintain a list of certificates for many popular mail servers requiring SSL access (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo!) allowing users to connect to them using this service. However, if your mail server requires SSL access and the certificate for your specific mail server is unavailable on our system, you will not be able to connect to your email account.

Well I have configured a while ago an iphone to connect to a SME server via IMAP & SSL.

I don't remember having any problems importing the SSL certificate, so your quote there seems wrong. (I didn't use any custom ssl certificate on the server).

Funambol works over https, which is a little different to IMAP over SSL.

That said, how did you import the certificate?

I think it prompted me on the first connection to the server that the server certificate was unrecognized and I had the option to import it. As I said it happened a while ago so I don't remember specifics other than the fact that the setup was pretty straight forward.

So maybe configuring the email as imap/pop over ssl first will allow you to import the certificate.

It's already done, I use my imap/SSL on SME, and before my first use of funambol.
