Fetchmail-contrib and groups
« on: May 17, 2009, 02:42:54 PM »
Hi there,

I can send emails locally to group@myserver and each group-member will get a copy. So I created an email-account group@mydomain at my domain-hoster and tried to set up the fetchmail-contrib to collect the mail. But in the fetchmail-contrib I can only select users as recipients, not groups. Is there any way to send emails to a group from external?

A workaround is to create a suitable user eg groupreceiver, in fetchmail select that user as recipient, and also setup that user account in sme to forward all email to group@mydomain
Please search before asking, an answer may already exist.

Hi Mary, thanks for your suggestion. I had already found a similar workaround, but found it to be a bit unaesthetic because it is aditional work and also that user cannot have the same name as the group. So I thought there might be a way to get the groups into the fetchmail-contrib.
