Topic: connecting printer from linux using the right user

Hi,

I have an SME 7.4 server + cups with xp and ubuntu8.10 PCs

I installed on the server à printer, it works fine

When I install the printer on the XP PCs I do not have any problems and whatever user I use, it is this user that is mentioned in the logs

When I install the printer on the linux machine I have to use the admin (from sme) login and password to be able to connect the printer via samba. Then the only user mentioned in the logs of cups is admin.

As I use phpprintanalyzer to get an idea of who's printing I need to get the name of the right user. I would like to connect the printer under linux without having to give any logins, but geting the name of the actual user in the logs.
