Email sending problems
« on: March 31, 2009, 06:00:30 AM »
Hello

I have just recently started to look after a SME server for a small organisation, and I am a bit new on how it all hangs together so please excuse me.

I  have had  a look through the FAQ and Howtos but haven't really got to gripes with what I need to change.

The SME server is version 7.3 and is used as Internet gateway, and it automatically interrupts and handles all outgoing mail.  I would like to bypass the SME's SMTP server and use the ISP's SMTP server  for sending  mail but still use the SME server for incoming mail as this provides a nice IMAP facility is there an easy way I can archive this?

Thanks,

Welcome to the forums :)

Rather than bypassing SME Server's SMTP server, you can instruct it to forward all outgoing messages to your ISP's mail server.
