ID instead Number for incomming calls
« on: March 12, 2009, 07:22:37 PM »
Hello there,
Is there any possibility to centralise address book for all kind of hansets ?
Let me explain, instead having a number displaying on a handset while incomming call, is it possible to have a name ?
I assume that there would have some conditions,
how could we achieve this ?

by phones, I mean for my tests, Linksys PAPT2 and thomson ST2030

Thanks for your help
Edd

Do a search for "caller info" or "caller id" (if i remember correctly) and you'll find some usefull info from Soprom.

There is a central phone directory but it only works for SNOM and Aastra devices.  It's also pretty easy to do something similar for Polycom.

We have a few customers who have integrated their SNOMs with their SBS/Exchange contacts database using LDAP.   This is very impressive and seems to respond pretty quickly.
