Bugs??
« on: January 21, 2009, 01:35:14 AM »
Hi Selintra

I am wondering where you want us to report bugs?
I see there is not much going on in the bug tracker and most people actually report the problems here. Either way is just fine with me, but i 'm asking because i just had my fingers slapped for breaking forum rules. I'm a big lad and i don't like getting fingers slapped....
And of course... I have a bug that i already filed a bug report on (#4926), and also tried to email you. There was no responce yet.
Maybe that bug is not your bug, but i don't have enough knowlegde to determine that. If SAIL breaks anything else on SME, then i think it's quite important for your great product.

I hope to SAIL again soon....

Thanks

Hello Per,

Without more data than you've given it is very difficult to comment on your problem with these contribs which aren't working properly.  However, there is only one area where SAIL impinges upon the rest of SME Server and that is in the rewrite engine in Apache.  SAIL modifies the engine to do direct proxy to local phones.  You can turn the proxy code off  (i.e. - remove it from Apache) by setting Dynamic Proxy Enable: to OFF in globals.  This should prove whether the problem lies with SAIL or not.  If things work OK with the proxy OFF, then you can turn it back on and use the Proxy Ignore List: feature to force it to ignore your contribs.  In this way both SAIL and your contribs should be able to co-exist peacefully.  You can read about proxy-ignore here

http://aelintra.com/docs/cgi-bin/view/Main/DocChapter06#Proxy_Ignore

As far as reporting bugs is concerned, because we are only dealing with one product which is reasonably stable, we don't really mind where you post errors.  Feel free to leave them here or on the bug tracker.  The SME developers have a strict rule that all their problems are reported on the tracker, but they have a much larger problem space to tackle than we do, so it's important to them that you report SME bugs only through the tracker.

Kind Regards

S

Hi Selintra

I'm sorry for not giving more info, but i didn't know what to give :???:

OK, this seems to be the "problem". If i turn "Dynamic Proxy Enable" OFF the pages work.
I have tryed to put URL from those broken pages in the ignore list but that does not work, maybe the format is wrong?
I have tryed:

http://domain.xx/webshare
http://domain.xx/webshare/timesheet
http://domain.xx/webshare/timesheet/index.php

Any hints?

Do i actually have any need for dynamic proxy to be enabled? I don't really understand what i does...
My setup is:

SME in server-gateway
Sipura 2000
IAXmodem/Hylafax

Thanks a lot

Hi Per

it should be enough just to put /webshare /otherapp /anotherapp etc etc into the proxy ignore field.

Dynamic proxy is the feature which allows you to log directly on to a phone's browser from the extensions main screen in server-manager.  If the phone is locally connected, you can click on the "Connected" state icon (it looks like two plugs pushed together) and this will proxy you to the phone (if the phone has a browser - some don't).

Kind Regards
