Receiving notices Failed to authenticate [RESOLVED]
« on: April 01, 2008, 05:29:59 PM »
Hi,

Incoming calls are presented with the caller name and I get this kind of logs:

NOTICE[4695]: chan_sip.c:13821 handle_request_invite: Failed to authenticate user "LASTNAME FIRSTNAME" <sip:5141234567@209.217.98.194>;tag=as88acfa88

Do I have to act on this?

Usually, to accept SIP inbound calls from a registered SIP account you need to include insecure=very in the sip peer entry.

This may solve your issue.

Kind Regards

Nice one Mark,

I didn't know that.  We've just continued to use "insecure=."  Do you know if insecure= is deprecated in 1.4?  We'll need to make a change to the generator if it is.

Best

Jeff
