recommended mailing list software
« on: February 10, 2011, 04:26:44 AM »
Hi

I want to setup mailing lists on my SME Server & am looking for recommendtations for ease of use.

We'll have aroiund half a dozen mailing lists with no more than 100 email addresses in any of them.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Peter

Have you looked at the mailman contrib? I think that'd what most are using, could be wrong :)

Thanks for the reply.

I'd read a couple of posts about it having issues when run under later versions of 7.5.X, hence my request. :)

Once I figured out what I had done incorrectly, Mailman works like a champ on 7.5.1

Fast and reliable.

<mailman> Yes, but it does not work under V8b6.
AFAIK it should if you update to the latest tip of SME 8.0 beta 6 (also including updates in smeupdates-testing (and perhaps smetest).

I use ezmlm, which works a treat.

Are you confirming that Ezmlm works on SME 8? Even though the Contribs QA page says it doesn't?

Yeah, ignore that last post.. I'll read the top of the SME8 Contribs QA page first next time before posting.
