Topic: >5 meg FTP uploads or Email

I have people that want to upload files to me - currently in the 25 to 40 meg range but who knows how big in another year.

I tried to set up email but it doesn't seem to work with large files.

I also tried to set up an ibay with psupload so files could be uploaded from a web page. Question is perl installed?

Assuming it is I am told
#   On your server, create a directory where this program will write the files
    #   to. Make sure you CHMOD this directory to 777. If you do NOT specify a $Data
    #   directory, the program will attempt to write to the web root directory.
    #   NOTE: YOU SHOULD ALWAYS SPECIFY A DIRECTORY TO STORE THE UPLOAD

The data could be stored in a user area or an ibay if I can get the absolute path to these. Also need to know how to chmod directory if required. - assuming I need to log onto root and type chmod 777 path/name whatever that is?

If someone has a better solution I am listening? I would consider both email and an uploading FTP method if both can work. Email has the advantage it gets looked at, FTP could sit their if the customer doesn't send an email.

Security Risks, which is greater, have  version 5.1.2 of  SME?

Actually it does work with large files but when sending an email via my ISP they limit email size to 5 megs. I assume other ISPs will be the same so though I could receive greater than 5 megs others won't be able to send greater than 5 megs.

It would appear I need to set up some sort of upload FTP utility. I have one free one called PSUPLOAD but it seems I haven't configured it correctly yet. Anyone gone through this before with either PSUPLOAD or another.
