Hylafax: No Destination/Dialstring specified
« on: January 14, 2008, 05:17:21 AM »
I have just installed SME Server (linux), HylaFAX (tm) Version 4.4.3 and the modem port is ttyS1. I can send fax using the command /usr/sbin/sendfax –D –d 28511480 /root/1.pdf from the Server at root. However I cannot send fax by sending an email to edwin@28511480.fax. The mail log shows the following:
to=local.faxsender-edwin3@28511480.fax, uid=453, ddelay=0.077426, xdelay=0.072407, stat=Sent (faxmail:_No_Destination/Dialstring_specified./sendfax:_No_input_data;_tranmission_aborted./did_0+0+1/)

I have found that the source codes at http://sme.dungog.net/packages/smeserver/7.0/i386/dungog/RPMS/smeserver-hylafax-0.9-4.noarch.rpm state the modem to be ttyS0 in the following files:
/etc/e-smtih/db/configuration/defaults/hylafax/port
/etc/e-smith/templates/etc/inittab/85hylafax
I had manually amended the files for the port to ttyS1 and then tried again,
but I got the same error.

Would you please help me to solve this?

Thank you.

Edwin Cheung

I have already changed the port to ttyS1 by using config setprop according to Other Modifications before I ask for help. You can see from my first post that I can send fax using the command /usr/sbin/sendfax –D –d 28511480 /root/1.pdf from the Server at root. The only problem is to change email to fax. Please advise.

Sorry all I know is in the Wiki.

>by using config setprop according to Other Modifications
this is a good way of putting it

>I had manually amended the files
this confused me

Problems are more likely to be solved on the Bugtracker
