FreeBusy URL
« on: August 12, 2007, 08:12:15 PM »
Hi,

Regarding the contact address book, FreeBusy URL ?

Is there info on the free busy URL feature, either in the manual or other?

Anyhow I'm just trying to find out what it does, and how to use it ?

Thanks

Yes, other...Check out the smeserver-kronolilth and kronolith-h3 rpm's, I added an advanced user management server-manager panel that will allow you to enter a user's free/busy info, which you can then use when scheduling meetings.

Moving this topic to the SME 7.x contribs forum, it is more appropriate there. Thanks!

Is this really a contribs ? This now adds an additional question to this thread.

Perhaps I should re-phrase the question.

When adding a new contact to the address book via webmail, there is a field which says (Freebusy URL)
Looks just like all the other fields shown for company name, email etc. no different.

All I want to know is what is it ? what does it mean ? and what does it do ?

I am not aware of any contribs that added this field.
I recall it's always been there by default but I could be wrong, in any case if it's always there then I guess this would not be a contribs topic which is why I posted in the SME7.x threads.
But I don't really know, I just know it has always been there.

Perhaps someone can clarify this subject further.

Is this a contribs that added this field ?
And what does it do/mean ?

Please advise Thanks

On a standard install, it gives you nothing.  If you install kronolith (Calendar), you need to use the free/busy url to do free/busy calendar searches.

oh Ok, thanks,
Is there instructions on how to use this feature ?

I must have installed the calendar program upon initial install, cause I've always had the calendar feature.

Thanks again.

If you have smeserver-kronolith installed, then you will have an additional server-manager panel called advanced user management.  Everything you need to know should be explained there.  It will allow you to input a user's free/busy info so that you can query it.  This way only works with users you have created.  That way, each user doesn't have to manually input this info into the personal address book what was a major PITA.
