Hi All

Does anyone of you guys managed to use internal extension start number above 4 digits
I would like to use extensions from e.g. 224869990 to 224869999
but GUI in server-manager will not allow that any ideas?

btw SAIL ROCKS!!! just had to shout it out loud  :P

You may change your mind when you get the answer to your question....

Looking back, there are a couple of really crap decisions we made with SAIL.  One was the fact that we hardcoded the feature keys and the other was the decision to hardcode 4-digit extensions.   As if that wasn't enough, there's a fair bit of decision making goes on in the agi based entirely upon the assumption that extensions will have four digits (cringe).

However, we think you CAN use aliases to pretty much any length.  We only figured this out the other day when we saw someone else doing it (boy do we know our code or what?).  Your mileage may vary but we think you can probably set your extensions up normally and then create aliases with the longer numbers you want.   As they say in the cleaning adverts, try it on a small sample first.

Let us know how you get on.

Best
