Contrib for work orders?
« on: October 12, 2008, 05:41:19 AM »
Is there a contrib for work orders? Say a call comes in and a work order needs to be generated and then emailed to correct person to handle the problem.

I am not aware og any, but perhaps trac might be worth a try, it is a issue tracking package (mainly) geared to software development. Perhaps an instance of bugzilla could do as well. Instructions for trac are in the wiki: http://wiki.contribs.org/Trac

I found zentracks to work very well for my work orders/ pending problems.  [link removed] .  I had to install php5 as a cgi for the ibay to get the latest 2.6.3 to work, but I think it was worth it.  Zentracks has a lot of customization capabilities if you can spend some quiet time thinking it through and setting it up.  Once up, it works very well in my opinion.

Note: The incorrect link provided in this post for zentrack has been removed, it may lead to a malware site.
The correct link is: www.zentrack.com - refer reply #6 of this thread.

Yes that is OK I figured it out. Might try it out after the first of the year when one server rolls out of a department to another. Thanks.
